DEFINITION: An accident resulting directly from the operation of an aircraft, where
(a) a person sustains a serious injury or is killed as a result of
(i) being on board the aircraft,
(ii) coming into contact with any part of the aircraft or its contents, or
(iii) being directly exposed to the jet blast or rotor downwash of the aircraft;
(b) the aircraft sustains damage or failure that adversely affects the structural strength, performance or flight characteristics of the aircraft and that requires major repair or replacement of any affected component part; or
(c) the aircraft is missing or inaccessible.

DÉFINITION : Accident résultant directement de l’utilisation d’un aéronef au cours duquel, selon le cas :
(a) une personne subit une blessure grave ou décède du fait d’être :
(i) soit à bord de l’aéronef,
(ii) soit en contact avec un élément de l’aéronef ou de son contenu,
(iii) soit exposée directement au souffle d’un réacteur ou d’un rotor d’hélicoptère;
(b) l’aéronef subit des dommages ou une rupture qui altèrent sa résistance structurale, ses performances ou ses caractéristiques de vol et qui nécessitent des réparations importantes ou le remplacement des éléments touchés;
(c) l’aéronef est porté disparu ou est inaccessible.
